Nairobi-We will spend the first full day touring the countries capital. We will go to an elephant orphanage, feed giraffes (same giraffes as the ones at the infamous Giraffe Manor!), watch a cultural dance show, & dine at the very popular Carnivore restaurant.

Maasai Mara-We will drive from Nairobi to Maasai Mara and spend the evening we arrive doing a game drive (animal viewing)! The following day will be a FULL day game drive, starting our quest to find the BIG 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo). We will also visit the Maasai Tribe and learn more about their community.

Lake Naivasha-We will depart from the Mara and head to Lake Naivasha, while making a pit stop at Hells Gate where you can do a walking safari. At Lake Naivasha, you can do an optional boat ride & an option Crescent Island self walking tour. The terrain of Naivasha is much different from the Mara as it is right on a massive lake.

Amboseli-From Naivasha, we head off to Amboseli! We arrive in the evening & prepare to start the morning bright and early for a FULL day game drive! Here we hope to spot the rhino & amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro! The next morning we go on an AM game drive before heading off to Nairobi airport to start the VOLUNTEERISM portion of the trip!

Kisumu, Ahero Town & Kabonyo Village-We will arrive in Kisumu in the evening & be transported on the back of motor bikes to Ahero Town where a teacer from the village is welcoming us into her home to stay for a few days. Each person will have their own bed, but rooms will be shared and this accomodation will be extremely simple & basic. Here, we will have our own cook to prepare our meals for us. Please understand we are here to learn about a different culture and service. There is a bathroom with a shower which can be seen as a luxury in this area.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner every day (besides arrival day & lunch on Nairobi day), airport transfers, driver, transportation for the entirety of the itinerary, English speaking guide(s) the entire time, all hotels, entrance fees to all parks listed, entrance to elephant orphanage, entrance to visit the giraffe center, cultural dance show, one roundtrip domestic ticket for Nairobi to Kisumu, & a group of 12 new travel buddies!

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED?

  • Flight to Nairobi from your base hub (though we can assist you in finding the best deal), tips to guides/drivers, any extra optional excursion not listed, meal(s) on arrival day and lunch on Nairobi day, Visa needed prior to entry, Vaccines required to enter (Yellow Fever is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED & is around 300-400$ but will last a lifetime).
  • Something to note is that we do try to keep costs as low as possible while still managing to get the experience of a lifetime! For example, you will be sharing rooms with other women on the trip. Everyone will have their own beds. We will be in TWO separate safari jeeps that hold up to 7 passengers each, we intentionally kept our number slightly lower than that so it would be more comfortable for everyone since we are driving a lot.
